Reportero - Opportunity to interview a Portland Timber!
Reportero is a community program designed to encourage bilingualism and leadership skills for local youth. Students are nominated by their teachers and then complete the application process with a short essay. The four selected high school students will have the opportunity to meet and interview a Portland Timbers or Portland Thorns player or coach. Following the interview, they are required to write a bilingual report about the experience in both English and Spanish that will be posted on the Portland Timbers website and social media outlets throughout the season. To view an archive of previous reports by students, please visit our website. The four winners for the 2015 season will be announced at the César E. Chávez Leadership Conference on March 6, 2015.
The deadline for students to apply is next month—January 16, 2015. Please note the deadline of January 16, 2015 is also the deadline to turn in materials for the CECLC Art, Essay and Poetry Contest, as well as the Scholarship Application Packets. Have questions, see us in the CLC Office room 2101!
